hartwellvillage.com was originally launched at the start of 2007 as a chat forum to let residents discuss local issues, village events and mutual hobbies and interests. Originally the idea of Our Man Inside, the site was put together and managed by Phil Sorrell (from Wheredidthetigergo) with the help of a small and dedicated moderation team.
Over the years, the forum has gone from strength to strength, and it soon became clear that there was an opportunity to give groups in and around the village the chance to share their news and events with residents online in a more structured way.
The website is the product of that vision. It has, quite frankly, been a mammoth of a project, but we are very proud of the result! The site has been developed for free by Wheredidthetigergo, and is run on a not-for-profit basis for the benefit of the community.
If you look to the top left of this page (just under the village sign), you will see a number of guides to help you, and your group or business, make the most of this site!
