Ok the problem with adding a location in Internet Explorer 7 has now been fixed.

This page is under Hartwell Community Website
As this website is very location specific, there are lots of features which rely on the geographical location of the groups and businesses added onto the site - for example you can filter group/event/business lists according to their distance from your address.
The following is a brief guide to adding this location information when you are adding an item to the site.
There are three types of item which require location information -

For both groups and businesses - the first part of the location field is a drop down where you can select an existing location. This is particularly useful for groups who are based at a location run by another group (for example a group based in the Community Centre). If you choose an existing location, you do not need to enter an address, or mark the location on the map, as this is all done for you!
If your location is not available from the drop down, then select "Location not listed (enter address and use map!)".
The first stage is to enter the postal address - don't worry about including the name of your group or business, as that isn't required, but a county does need to be included. If you are based in a village, it is also helpful if you use the "Town or City" field for the village name.
If the group or business you are trying to add hosts events which are open to the public (free or charged) then check the "Location a venue for events?" option - this will make sure your location can be chosen as a location when an event is added.
Once you have added your address, the next stage is to mark the actual location on a map. Click the "Find on Map" button.

The site will attempt to find the location of your entered address and mark it with a red marker on the map.
Occasionally the site won't be able to work out where your address is located - if this is the case a little alert box will appear notifying you, and you can then select your location manually by navigating the map and clicking on your location.
You can adjust the position of the marker by clicking and dragging the marker to the correct location. If the marker is no where near your location, just navigate the map to your location and click on your location.
To reset the marker position, click the "Reset" button.
You can toggle between hiding and showing the map, but clicking the "Show Map" and "Hide Map" buttons.
If you have any problems with the location field, please let us know!
This is an offical item and is managed by Hartwell Community Website
