[NEW] Alpha Release As a new feature, it is now possible to download files containing the latitude and longitude points for each route for GPS units. The files are in GPX format - you can download a free GPS utility which can convert the file into a whole host of different formats for different devices. Muddy Boot Descriptions:

The Muddy Boot rating is aimed at giving a guide to the type of terrain expected on the route, so users can decide whether the route is suitable for them.

1 - Easy Terrain: The whole route is tarmac or good condition paths. Suitable for wheelchairs and prams.
2 - Light Terrain: The route may also include some grass or other light terrain. Suitable for prams and some wheelchairs.
3 - Medium Terrain: The route includes some easy to navigate obstacles (i.e. stiles), and may be a little muddy in wet conditions. Suitable for most users on foot.
4 - Tricky Terrain: The route includes some tricky obstacles (high or damaged stiles), and some fairly difficult terrain (especially in bad weather) in places. Suitable for most fit and active walkers with their dogs.
5 - Extreme Terrain: The route is difficult, and is only suitable for adventurous walkers and tough dogs!

The descriptions obviously apply to walking routes - but the same theory applies for all other routes!
