Boundary changes mean that the Northamptonshire South constituency, which includes Hartwell, has been created out of wards previously part of Daventry (traditionally a Conservative seat) and Northampton South (which the Conservatives won from Labour in 2005). Our current MP is Brian Binley, who is standing in the Northampton South constituency. [Souce - BBC Website]
Here is a brief summary of each of the candidates, as well as links to further information.
Having lived in the constituency for 34 years until 2005 I feel that this gives me a great insight into the issues effecting the residents of South Northants. I believe for all its beauty the area has some very real issue about social exclusion through a lack of services, opportunites, housing and transport. All of these are serious issues for far too many residents of the constitiuency and I shall be working hard to change that situation.

Andrea Leadsom lives at the heart of the new Constituency of South Northamptonshire in a village near Towcester. She is married to Ben and has three children. Andrea is a firm supporter of David Cameron, believing, as he does, that power should be devolved as far as possible to local communities. Andrea would like to see Head Teachers responsible for their schools, doctors responsible for their patients, and parents responsible for their children. The dependance on welfare, and the proliferation of unelected quangos can only work against this.

I will work to do the following. 1) Make income distribution more even. 2) End proliferation of new taxes. 3) Return local democracy to local government. 4) Reform banking; separating real banks from casino investment banks. 5) Simplify the pensions system. 6) Support manufacturing and innovation. 7) Protect civil liberties; end extradition. 8) Promote sustainable energy and food supplies.

Matthew was born in Wellingborough in 1971 and has lived in Northamptonshire all of his life. Currently, he is an Assistant Headteacher at a Milton Keynes secondary school. Matthew believes that the Labour Government has done much to improve the lives of all over the last eleven years, and in particular cites the minimum wage, the increased winter fuel payments for pensioners and the increasing numbers of families being raised out of poverty as key achievements.

Does that mean we have to non-partisan?
It concerns me that a certain party round here seems to get voted in, even if they put a pot dog up with their rosette on. They run the district council and it's crap, they run the county council and it's crap.
That's all I'm going to say for now.
