well its only wednesday and so far there have been 40ton trucks parked up in the center of the village on two of the three days I have driven through on my way to work! will this mean more HGV parking up and driving through the village? will this mean more trucks parked up in the forest to join the ones already up there? and then there is the access point to this developement, I have already had one near miss with one of the idiots who work up there where they forced me off the road as they pulled out on me! so add the employees from the units there at rush hour/school run time trying to get in and out while someone comes over the bridge at the speed of light!
this planning meeting will be it attended by the members of the parish council? if so it may be worth while attending just to ask if certain members would step down due the clash of interests they have in future developements in and around the village

I have been pushing for the Parish Council to get moving with a Parish Plan for the village, something they seem to be moving very slowly on. This is really important for the village to do before anymore applications come through as it sets out what the village wants to see in its future development. However, if they don't get their bums in gear we, the residents of the village, can do it ourselves. There are grants available to help us. It would be interesting to know if anyone is up for creating a vision for the village, rather than it just becoming another commuter village.
As to new developments- always think the worst first then pull back from it. A landowner is after the most money they can get, whether they live local or not. don't believe anything until it's in writing and legally binding, sad though this is.

To make any future developments in the village work, a masterplan is the best route, to take into account the villages needs and expectations. I see this all to often when i'am being asked to design new housing developments for the main house builders. It just appears that SNC have there own set of rules and views, which i personally think are pretty strange in comparision with other LPA's.
It seems that just recently not allot of thought has been put into the grand scheme of things, and instead we have developments cropping up all over the place which dont really tie in with the original line of the village.
By that i mean developing outside of the villages boundary.
Historically Hartwell has a development line which stretches from Salcey forest down towards the Ashton Direction, (this can be traced through from some of the earliest maps) and instead of following this natural line, the village is spreading out sidewars, which will inevitably put more strain on its current infrastructure.
Personally I'am at a stage where I couldn't care less for SNC decisions, because if a petition of over 200 peoples views can't be taken into account by SNC, then whats the point in the planning process as a whole??

do we know what type of businesses are likely to occupy the premises, if not how can a reasoned arguement be sustained for or against the development. Q, will this mean local employment opportunities for local people, or a transfer in of people from elsewhere for work only.
As a village do we always assume the worst, such a traffic increase, large trucks, more noise & pollution etc etc.
more important will the development spoil the aesthetics of our village? I personally dont think so, it will be tucked away and close to the M1, this could provide a noise reduction from the M1 for those residents directly in front of the development.
Just my thoughts. would love to go to a parish council meeting unfortunately never around on the evening it is held on each month.

I seem to remember this first being submitted a couple of years ago - originally they wanted two story buildings, but they reduced it to one to not block the view of the residents.
I thought it had been given planning permission, but perhaps it was planning permission in principle (or whatever the correct term is!)

C'mon it's not like 6 garages are really going to substantially increase traffic and as for any additional 'noise pollution' when right next to the M1 like that you can't hear yourself fart let alone anything else!

So sorry to hear that there will be some business opportunities in the village.
How dare anyone dare to suppose that jobs and prosperity would be welcomed here.
