New Health Walk in Hartwell

Published on 1st February 2012 9:48am

This news relates to South Northamptonshire Council

A free health walk is starting in the village of Hartwell in February.

Colin Hull, Sports Development Officer, said, "I am delighted that we are able to start this new health walk as it means more people can gain the tremendous health benefits from walking."

The walk in Hartwell starts on Saturday 4th February 2012 at 11am from the Conservative Club, and thereafter the walk will be on the 1st and 4th Saturday of each month.

Health walks are free and walkers do not require any special equipment. Volunteer Walk Leaders will guide each walk and, afterwards, walkers will be invited to join the Walk Leaders for tea and coffee.

Health walks are part of the national Walking for Health programme (www.wfh.naturalengland.org.uk) which has been developed locally by South Northamptonshire Council. The aim is to provide opportunities for people who currently do little or no exercise to take advantage of this free, easy and beneficial activity.

I wish this could start just half an hour later as it clashes with my current Zumba addiction
