Northants County Council Budget Cuts

"We are inviting comments on Northamptonshire County Council’s Draft Budget 2011–12 and Council Plan 2011–2015.Over the past year we have been open and transparent about the financial challenge we face. More and more people are in need of our services, while our income from government is being dramatically reduced, meaning that we need to find savings of £136 million over the next four years.

 In early 2010, we started our ‘You Choose’ campaign to inform our draft planning and budget setting process and our proposals show that we have listened to many of your views. However, we are proposing some very difficult reductions in services as we can no longer afford to keep services operating at the same level.

It is vitally important that we hear from as many people as possible during this consultation period, as we all work together to find the best solutions. Please submit your comments by 8 February so they can be considered seriously and fully."
