M1 Lights

A-one+ are the Managing Agent Contractor for the Highways Agency’s motorway and trunk road network in the East Midlands.

The Highways Agency is looking at proposals to reduce the carbon footprint of operating the motorway network.  As part of these proposals we plan to switch off road lighting between midnight and 5am on the M1 between Junction 16 and Watford Gap Services. This will be implemented at 00:01hrs on the 2nd February 2011.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Probably a bit of both. Not sure no lighting on the Mway network is a good idea, given the safety benefits the lighting brings.
