Report from the Parish Plan Open Meeting

This news relates to Hartwell Parish Plan
On 31st August, Hartwell held an Open Meeting to introduce Parish Plans and to form a steering committee to manage the project

The Open Meeting began with a like / dislike exercise where attendees were asked to write on post-it notes their answers to the following questions:
- What do you like about living in Hartwell?
- What do you dislike about living in Hartwell?
- What would you like to see improved in the future?
There was then a presentation from myself (Phil Sorrell) introducing Parish Plans - view presentation notes
The constitution of the Parish Plan Steering Committee was approved - this document details the aims and objectives of the committee, as well as the rules of governance.
Volunteers were then asked for the Steering Committee - the committee will be initial made up of: Phil Sorrell (Chair), Norman Goss (Parish Council), David Heron (Parish Council), Paul Battye (External Liasion), Tamsin Battye, Emily Crouch (Treasurer), Derek Hawley (Secretary) and Andy Strachan (Volunteer Co-ordinator).
There are still vacancies on the committee if you are interested in getting involved, although there are lots of other ways you can help:
- If you are interested in a specific topic, such as broadband, housing development, or environment – you can be involved in smaller working parties. These working parties put together the actions relating to that topic from the results of the consultation.
- Other help: making cakes, helping organise events, design / graphics skills, accounting / auditor, proof reading, local knowledge etc.
- Help with distribution documents around the village
- Help spreading the word

The next Steering Group meeting will be on Tuesday 28th September 7.30pm at Community Centre
