Hartwell to create a future vision and positive plan to stop rural decline
Villagers in Hartwell will soon be asked what are the most important things they'd like improving within the village to help make it one of the best villages in the county. A new group is being set up to find out the issues, needs and aspirations that local residents, businesses and community groups think important. They will then create a Parish Plan that will set out how the village can improve based on what local people want or need.
Phil Sorrell, Chair of the new group said, "this is an exciting time for Hartwell and together we can really make a difference on how the village develops in the future".
"We are looking for people who are passionate about Hartwell to step forward and get involved in creating this plan. The more people get involved in this, the more they will feel that they are being listened to and that the village is something they are a part of. No matter your skills, experience or free time available, you can still get involved."
Things that could end up in the plan include:
- A place for young people to hang out
- More affordable housing for local people
- Safe cycle routes through the village
- Better public transport
- Improved social venues and events
If you live in Hartwell and have ideas about how you think it can become an even better village, came along to the Parish Plan Open Meeting, on Tuesday 31st August 2010 7.30pm at the Community Centre
